like a swarm of locusts, piso mojado's sketch comedy lays waste to all that it lights upon. also like locusts, members of piso mojado are normally shy, solitary creatures. but in a swarm they become a menace to society, telling and re-telling the tale of rumpleforeskin throughout all the land.

arthur from portraits of piso

one of my favorites, though honestly i've got so many favorites, so i'll simply say it's one of my favorites in the portraits of piso series. i love how the white light adds dimensionality to the portrait, helps to separate arthur from the background, and pops just that sliver of his glasses and eye. art also has such a fantastic expression in this photo.

every once in a great while, a call is sent forth from the clarion trumpet of piso mojado. like the beaching of whales or the coming of the red tides, it is an event both awe-inspiring and troubling.
so i ride up to l.a. to help paint nathan & yuki's nursery room in preparation for the imminent arrival of their soon-to-be baby. later on, i meet with the piso mojado sketch comedy group members. god help us all.

buddha's hand citrus in the garden

this is one of the craziest fruit i've ever seen in my life. when i first saw it growing on the tree, i thought my mom was nuts for letting this obviously mutant tree continue to grow in the yard. wouldn't it infect the surrounding plants? or maybe she was trying to nurse it back to health? but apparently, this is the way it's supposed to be. nature is weird.

the greatest thing about this photo which you would never realize is that there's a huge inflatable gorilla silhouetted to the left of center along the horizon. if you look closely, you can barely make out his two upraised arms and his head. he's pretty tiny in the photo, but because i know what he looks like in real life, he adds a touch of funny to the photo for me. i'll get a better picture of him for you so we can all share in the joy.
