i sat and listened to her as she told me the last of her secrets. this friend of mine who had never known love, whose life had been spit and nails and broken glass. abandoned by her family and left to deal with the darkness of abuse over the years, she had finally found that love, the experience of being with the "one". and now she had to let it all go. my heart broke and came back together, and broke again. i could barely handle the immensity of it.

boy i really loved that ratatouille movie. i saw it on the plane on a 6" monitor that was ten feet away from me. and it was really chilly where i was sitting. but i still loved it! so when i saw this guy recently, i didn't totally freak out. which is pretty good for me.

swooping into salt lake city for a stop off, i was surprised to see so much snow. though it makes too much sense. snow in the winter! and lots of skiers at the airport awaiting their packages. now i'm home for the holidays. (it's the lunar new year approaching, or as the vietnamese call it, tet. year of the rat!)
