g+p, thanks for having me as part of your life. i dunno how it came to be, but i felt more loved at your wedding than i've ever felt before.
maybe it was your family. your moms and dads are sweet, sweet folk. maybe it was you guys. g, i still remember seeing you at the end of the night and our conversation. p, can't tell you how much i admire your open heartedness.

chicago revisited

stayed in downtown chicago this last go around, which was a nice changeup from rosemont. they're two distinctly different areas. one, for example, has really great dining. the other does not.
i really enjoyed the downtown architecture.. some very gorgeous buildings. i absolutely loved the aqua building, especially because you don't really notice it's uniqueness until you spend time with it. and happen to be directly underneath, looking up.

editing through c's 1st bday photos. thought i had finished them awhile back, but they apparently slipped by my notice as i was hustle bustlin' across the country. also trying to finish up r+f's wedding photos. it's been difficult with these last three weeks of travel.

chicago sunrise. navy pier in the distance. here right now for a shared services summit. there was new york and boiceville in-between this week of chicago and the previous week of chicago. then back home tomorrow and m+b's wedding this saturday.
got my d300s this past weekend. finally got some time shooting with it here in chicago. it's very nice, and the possibilities with video have my mind in a whirl. this is what i've been dreaming about for the past year or two.

kristen thorne at e+d's wedding

i shot with kristen thorne two weeks ago for e+d's wedding. when i got her images in the mail and looked through them, i was extremely impressed. as i told kristen, her photos are spectacular. technically, they're gorgeous (beautiful colors, great detail, very pretty). this set of portraits that she caught is simply to die for.
if my eye is right, she's also quite good at post processing. the best sort of post processing subtly makes an image shine, bringing everything into balance.. composition, color, lighting, focus, and emotion. without you even knowing or thinking about it.
