catalina cruisin'
along with insects, spiders, okra, and the cold, i absolutely hate boats. so the only thing that could draw me out to catalina island (and the two and a half hour round-trip boat ride) was a treasure chest full of booty. barring that, i'll settle for some friends' birthday celebration.
catalina reminded me of the part in orson welle's "time machine" where the guy goes a million years into the future and comes across utopia, full of docile pretty young things sunning themselves in the sand and surf.
