homeward bound from rosemont, illinois to philly.
illinois, land of never-ending toll roads. no sooner past one toll booth then you're grabbing a ticket for the next. pretty weather. we caught a golden sunset on the ride back, led zeppelin blasting us down the highway.
a long drive, us going for the straight shoot. at about hour 13 or 14, our energy collapsed and we pulled over to the side of the road. windows down, morning sun heating the van up too cozy, parliament funkadelic or prince oozing from the radio. a half hour? an hour? later, too tired to notice, we woke up and gunned on the rest of the way home.
