i'm working on bringing my friend nathan & yuki's wedding photos over onto life magical. i took them almost four years ago with a point 'n shoot (the canon s400 digital elph). i got a lot of usage out of that tiny piece of amazingness and would recommend the canon elph line of cameras to anyone looking to purchase a small digital camera which is easy to use, compact, and takes great photos a lot of the time. i haven't looked into point 'n shoot cameras for a while however, so i have no idea what the current market competition is like.
these photos used to be hosted on my now defunct himinwin.com domain, and nathan asked very nicely if i could still have them up somewhere. until the gallery goes up, here are some selects. hopefully these images show that you can still take great photos without the fancy dslr equipment. i do miss the overall versatility of my small s400 at times.

i obviously have a disease and can't go more than a day or two without posting some photo or other (please help me). summer's moved in quick to new york with its high temperatures and heavy humidity, though the rains and cool breezes have managed to keep things right at the edge of bliss. i used to dread the intensity of new york's seasons, with its blustery winters and thick summers, thunderstorms that come out of nowhere and feel like the gods are really, truly angry with something. now though, i think it's all part of the ny experience.

i'm on something of a small break. haven't picked up the camera in a few days. i figure i need to observe life without the moral imperative of capturing it in bits and bytes.

mona and craig had a small, intimate family affair. the skies threatened to rain on the day of their wedding, but a few calls were placed and the sun soon came out in full force. it turned out to be a magnificently gorgeous day. they're planning a larger, more festive wedding celebration in san luis obispo which i'll be headed out to shoot.

gary from the marriage of mona and craig

gary has the most amazing spirit ever and you can see it in his face. i met him at mona & craig's wedding and chatted briefly with him about his life. hit by a delivery truck a few years back, it's been a struggle for him since but he's never given up on living and loving. what a smile..
