finally got home last night and my new led light panel was waiting for me. unlike a lot of the other extremely expensive units out there, this unit can also be controlled by remote. now i just need eight more of these things to create a real vibe. check out the crazy shadows in the photo!

off in columbus ohio for ohayocon this weekend. the weather is in the teens and everything is frozen. it warmed up a little later in the day and a sexy sunset appeared out of nowhere. caught unawares, i couldn't help but be stunned. yowzers, golden is gifted! then it was back to heavy lifting in the cold.
xavier and i came to ohayocon two years ago and we stumbled across a diner with the best banana cream pie. sweet sensual crumbly textured ooziness! we came back for it three days straight. we've come this year to search for that same diner and its purely amazing banana cream pies. we're gonna find that spot, for sure.

home for the holidays and its as beautiful as ever. my mom is sick and the house is a little more run down, but the family marches on. there's the strange sense of growing older. inevitable of course, but it just feels really tangible right now.

i'm very much looking forward to sarah & chopper's wedding in january. it'll be my first wedding of 2008, and they're such a sweet couple. they're like hard work and adorable rolled into one big cinnamon roll. man, i love cinnamon rolls. they're almost as good as chocolate croissants.
i'll also be shooting a wedding later today. look out for some snaps. i'll be shooting with harrison gould, who has many awesome stories to tell about his life & times as a photographer. it sounds like it'll be fun and relaxed.

the zipper factory (it's in times square on 37th st) is a really gorgeous space. it's tucked back away from the buzz of times square, really cozy, and highly eccentric in its aesthetic.. a photographer's dream, with comfy corners and funny decor. cow kissing anyone? (thanks for being a willing participant, will)
the lighting designer for their theater space did a beautiful job. he consistently created lush, vibrant, textured scenes with his lights. i definitely need to work with him. he added touches that i might have, like throwing some blue light into a warm scene to create cool shadows. it's a small detail, but i love the depth it adds.
