call me a sentimentalist, but there's a certain appeal to these old school comics. i especially like the work of wyeth, whose work is a little on the soft and touchy side, but hey, maybe i'm feeling soft and touchy right now. i like his colors very much, and while his compositions are a little simplistic by today's standards, i like the sweep and flow of emotion. it makes me think of a time when magic was real and legends were possible. which would probably be about sixth grade, when i was playing robots under the shade with friends and setting ants ablaze nearby.
