i surely thought this katsucon i would just hang out and enjoy the con. but alas, twas not meant to be. work work work it was.. but i did scrap together enough energy to snap a few pics through the line for the formal ball. god there is so much character at these cons!

mardi gras this weekend in new orleans. sadly i won't be around to see the festivities, but seems like the locals are prepping for the excitement. purple, gold & green everywhere, not to mention the ubiquitous beads. thank god for the chinese.
i got into the city yesterday, and leaving tomorrow morning. katsucon in d.c. is up next, then home for a much needed break.

four conventions in three weeks.. :sigh: after a good solid two months of solitary confinement in front of my computers (and a brief sojourn to socal), i'm back on the clock again, racing against time it seems like. i'm not trying to turn 2009 into the maelstrom that 2008 was, but i realize a part of me enjoys the intensity. besides, gotta pay the bills, right?
next up is ny comic con, then down to new orleans and finally back up to washington d.c. for katsucon. who does this?!

i had the best time with my nieces and nephew and family. in the week plus that i was home, my mom had repainted the exterior of the house and redone a cement/brick walkway in front. man is she wild or what? i also noticed the cabinets she had put up a little while back were incomplete, so i finished installing handles and door stops, and trimming one door for a better fit.

for a while now, i've been wanting to plot out all the places i'd hoofed out to in 2008. it was a formidable list of almost two dozen different cities. somehow it doesn't quite seem so formidable with all those cute little red tabs on the map. except that long red line from philadelphia to seattle was driven in three days. and then we had to drive back. and i think we drove out to illinois like three times. and i flew out to vegas twice. so yea, it was a hectic year. goodbye 2008!
