still departed
successfully recovered from the service pack crash that rendered my laptop useless a few weeks ago. thank god! some of my working files were only on the laptop. it would have been a real pita otherwise.
i've decided to upgrade to windows 7 rc, as windows vista has given me bucketloads of trouble ever since i started using it. have heard great things about the release candidate, so am crossing my fingers and upgrading my system. tried to install it on parallels on the mac (to test drive it), but neither the 64bit or 32bit installs would work. oh wells..
while i've got loads of other work on my plate to get through since i just got back home the other day, i need to stabilize my working platforms. the upgrade should only take "a few hours". great! thankfully i've got a multi-computer setup, so i can keep working while my laptop reconfigures itself.
update: what could possibly go wrong?.. except after cleaning the keyboard on my mac (i felt the urge!), half the keys don't work. so now no working computers but my poor iphone. wow! this was unexpected..
