against all odds, i persevere.. `turtle
apparently, my newest craft has become dioramas. or as felix my neighbor calls 'em, dinoramas. except there are no dinosaurs (yet). it's sort of amazing to me what can be done with a little cardboard, craft paper, spray adhesive, a hot glue gun and a razor. oh, and plenty of imagination. lots and lots of that.
the characters are actually the most daunting part of the crafting process for me right now. you can sort of tell, because i leave that until last. and it always seems to take me two tries to get them right. the first one ends up being too big and gangly, and this turtle was no exception.
i had actually finished him up and glued him into place, but i definitely felt a twinge of something. uncertainty, or maybe it was the beers i'd had. after sleeping on it, i woke up the next day and was immediately certain that he was wrong for the piece. not only is he too big, he's also a little bit ugly and somewhat mean looking. don't tell him though, it would break his heart. so i got my supplies out and made his little brother, and now all is right in the world again.
